BALZAC SIESTAS

Readings

Every Monday, from July 19th to August 23th

When the meal was over, I went down, in spite of the heat, to the meadow-lands for another sight of the Indre and its isles, the valley and its slopes, of which I seemed so passionate an admirer. (…) All was silent and palpitating, as a landscape is at midday in summer.
– Honoré de Balzac, The Lily of the valley

The Balzac Museum hosts literary siestas in the shade of its century-old trees in summer. Visitors can soak up the site's silence and relax on deckchairs or the grass. As they listen to extracts of Honoré de Balzac's work read by a museum staff member, they can let their mind wander and daydream.

Session: 30 min.

In French.

Within the limit of available places.
Reservation required : 02 47 26 86 50 or museebalzac@departement-touraine.fr
